Bicycle Camping Pine Creek trail ?

Planning cycling the trail along Pine Creek. Will start at southern end go to Northern end and come back. My Question is it possible to stealth camp in the wooded areas?

Re: Bicycle Camping Pine Creek trail ?

There are a lot of campsites along the trail. I think they are mostly used by the people floating the creek, but I could not see why you couldn't use them if you were biking.

We camped along the creek but drove in. Where we camped there were at least 2 camps where people biked in and probably another 3-4 where people floated in.

Re: Bicycle Camping Pine Creek trail ?

There are several DCNR state forest designated campgrounds along there.

They have Porta-potties and running water.

I'd contact Tioga State Forest and Tiadaghton State Forest, for more info.

Stealth camping is probably not legal. There is a lot of traffic on the bike trail so people are likely to see your stealth camping.

The floodplain along Pine Creek is steep and the land going up from Pine Creek is very steep. Along much of the trail there are camps with their lawns etc.

The campground at Tiadaghton is at an awewome place in the canyon. I'd definitely recommend staying there one night.
