Re: Cabot pays 4.5 million

would really like to know the " TRUE" storey behind all those well's.

the people with gas in well's say it wasn't there before the drilling
cabot has people on video/record, saying the gas has been in well's around dimock for years.

dep wanted to run a 12 million dollar pipeline to solve problem.
a lot of local people against that, plus cabot fought it.

cabot and dep and affected well owners now all seem to agree that paying those home owners twice the value of there home, and installing gas monitoring systems , and i believe water filtration systems in each home, is a satisfactory resolve to issue.

i will not side with either on this issue, cuz i don't know who's telling the truth. valid points on both sides.

kind of funny that cabot was able to find lots of people who "knew" the gas was in well's for years, yet DEP couldn't find those people?

a few months ago DEP said the "ONLY" way to resolve this was a new water pipeline. said they would build it and sue cabot to force them to pay for it.
Cabot stood up to them, and presented there case. now we have a compromise that will be about 1/3 the cost.
guessing there was some validity to cabots claims for DEP to back down, and certainly some validty to DEP claims for cabot to pay out over 4 million.

cabot also gets to go in and finish there work on the well's by the affected houses and get those wells on line.
do ya think those wells on line would produce the 4 mil ?

home owners get twice value of home, plus safe water i believe this is a better resolve for them than the water line would have been.

oh well, i guess all partys are happy now.......i would still like to know what really happened!

Your never to old to learn something stupid

according to the local TV station, not all the residents are happy and the civil suit/trial will still take place. Some figure the DEP head will take a job with ONE of the drilling companies when Corbett takes over in January.
