New to hunting PA. Like the state not just the website!

Hello, Eh, I'm so bad at these introduction things. I am Jen 34 years old. I used to hunt with my grandfather way back when I was a wee sized girl. Havn't don't it since I was 22 or so. Recently My husband and I have decided to get back into it. He has never hunted before and I have only ever hunted in Indiana( Were I was born and raised til I was 24 or so) I am finding it harder than I remember to track down animals( specifically turkey ) in this state than I did in Indiana. So here I am hopefully I can pick the brains of some more experienced PA hunters!

That would be much welcome. I have been exhaustively scouting and scouring the local State Game lands around Berks county but either I am way rustier than I thought or the tactics I developed hunting turkey in Indiana don't work here in PA or the PGC needs to up date their maps because there seem to be no turkey at SGL 106 110 280 145 156 wieser state forest French creek state forest.

Welcome to Berks.... Turkey unfortunately have become quite scarce(and Deer on public lands on the 5c portion) around here over the last 10 years or so. Wieser SF, 110 + 106 are still probably your best areas for finding birds. I took a few off of 280 as well, but for some reason the PGC timbered several roosting areas over there destroying a couple of my "hotspots". It also gets tons of pressure since it is close to work for lots of people. You also have to deal with lots of "others"(joggers, walkers, bikers and horse riders) over there.
