Who Do They Really Want?

I was listening to Mark Steyn briefly today. He was throwing out the theory of what could happen if Biden managed to win. If after serving two years he steps down, or is forced out, due to his diminished mental state, the VP becomes P. Since that would give the VP now P a less than two year term, they could still get elected to two full terms. So if Biden does get the nomination look at whomever the VP pick is, because that is who the Democrat establishment wants as POTUS.

Not really too far fetched based on their history of ignoring the voters' wishes.

That is a very real and very likely scenario. The only saving grace is Biden is more likely to pick a centrist running mate to draw those on the fence about voting for Trump. The far left will already be in his camp if Biden wins the nomination.

Lets hope Trump wins, so this is a non-issue.

Quid pro Joe, I'm sure he made the deal already. I hate to even think it But, I'm thinking Hillary. If the best they got is Joe, The pickings for VP are real bad. Heck, if it was Hillary, he wouldn't have to step down, he be out before the inauguration.

I can see it now . Biden and Sanders as running mates and Warren as secretary of state. Hillary as Attorney General and Obama as Health Czar. what an unthinkable cabinet that would be.

I disagree. The establishment wants Joe to be the nominee because they are propping HIM up to be a “centrist”. His running mate will likely be someone who can draw Bernie supporters to vote for him...

I mentioned it in a different thread, but another (not so) far fetched idea might be Romney. He's more of a dem than anything else.

And no, I wasn't a Romney supporter in 2012. Talk about holding your nose to vote!

The Bernie bros will vote for Biden no matter who he picks for VP. Anyone who prefers socialism and Bernies crazy ideas over Trump will vote "Blue, no matter who", just to get Trump outta there.

I don't see Joe picking Hildabeast or Mrs. Obozo either. To me this would turn the election of a rehash of 2016...and the dems didn't fare well in that one. I think Joes ideal running mate would be:

1. A centrist democrat from a swing state. (good)
2. A female centrist democrat from a swing state (better)
3. A black female centrist democrat from a swing state (best)

So what’s the definition of “centrist” and who fits the criteria that you laid out?

At this point in time there are ZERO “centrist” democrats IMO, just those who try to shroud their racialism with a label of “moderate” or “centrist”. You won’t find one prominent democrat out there who doesn’t agree with every aspect of Bernie’s platform.

Higher taxes? CHECK

Open borders? CHECK

“Free” healthcare, even for illegals? CHECK

Gun control? CHECK

Pro abortion? CHECK

In favor of more government control of our lives? CHECK

They’re all the same, some are just more open and up front about it and the party doesn’t like that they are letting the cat out of the bag. Bernie, Warren, AOC, Talib, Omar, etc are loud and proud Socialist/Communists and the party doesn’t like how open there are about it. So they stay to stifle them from running their mouths, secretly agreeing with them, and instead try to put the old guard democratic leadership at the forefront to try and convince they old blue dog democrats that centrism is still the leading principles of the democrat party...
