College football rule change

Changing the rules under the cloak of safety to gain an advantage Coach Saban?
I say unless a credible study proves a safety risk leave the rules alone. With all his recruits he shouldn't need to look for any more advantages.
What do you guys think?

Re: College football rule change

Saban and Bielema are crying about the substitution rule becase they don't run hurry up and don't know how to adjust defensively to the hurry up. I do not believe for a NY minute that it has anything to do with safety.

The targeting rule is just another way for the refs to screw up a call. I think there is an old spearing rule that should be enough. Last year, I saw targeting call on the margins and not called when it clearly should have been. In a close game it puts the refs in position to inject themselves in the game. It's football not pattycake.
