Re: Archbishop Wood

The East side of the state namely the Catholic League is winning now a days because they can legally recruit! The Western / public power houses legally can not recruit. This is coming from a father whose sons play in the Catholic League for football/baseball. It all goes back to the 1970s when Speedy Morris had those Roman Catholic powerhouses in baskestball, they could beat alot of college teams. I know St Joes Prep has studs from New Jersy on that team, just the way it is . By the way Congrats Wood. Lastly, I hope St Joes Prep gets SMACKED!

Former Phila. Eagle and current Congressman from New Jersey, John Runyon, has a son that plays for St. Joe's Prep.

Re: Archbishop Wood

Recruit ball players? In order to recruit you have to give a student some thing? Whether that be a scholarship, step up in academics, some thing. What are these recruits gaining from going with a catholic school over a public school? I never could figure that out. From what I see, public schools today have state of the art facilities, great teachers and coaches. Catholic schools don't have the nuns and priests in major study areas, old out of date equipment, high tuition, sub par teachers for the most part because of poor pay. I just don't get it. Gary U

Re: Archbishop Wood

Gary, these schools are recuiting. Free everything for your sports service. St Joes Prep is like 18 to 20 grand a year to go there now. You guys from Western Pa have NO idea whats going on on the east side!
