PSU Awards Update

Maxwell Football Club Coach of the Year:

You guessed it: PSU's Bill O'Brien

And Football Team:

Over 90% grad rate earns AFCA kudos. 2nd in B1G and ties for 7th of all 120 FBS teams.

Re: PSU Awards Update

Was listening to Jack Arute and Gino Torretta today on XM. They interviewed Urban Meyer. One of the items they discussed was the success that both Ohio State and Penn State had on the field and the quality of the players to maintain their seasons knowing they were not playing for anything. Meyer quickly replied and said that one of the greatest games he has ever been a part of was this years Ohio State vs. Penn State game in University Park. Over 100,000 people in the stadium and 2 teams, playing through NCAA sanctions that none of them had anything to do with, playing only for pride and their schools.

Congratulations BOB on a great season. Looks like the recruiting class is coming together nicely.

Re: PSU Awards Update

I am a little surprised that Meyers hasn't won one the the coaching awards, couple left though. OSU fans are a little steamed about UM not getting any yet.

Re: PSU Awards Update

Couple weeks ago ESPN ran a big story on how PSU attendance had plummeted this year. Ignoring the fact that college football attendance had decreased across the boards.

I look for PSU attendance to rebound quickly with BOB at the helm. Very entertaining product on the field.

Re: PSU Awards Update

Just hope O'Brien remains for a while without being gobbled up by one of those recently occuring pro coach openings. Already seeing his name mentioned...
