PHILADELPHIA — The Flyers lost their top-line right winger, veteran Jaromir Jagr, to free agency Tuesday when the future Hall of Famer signed a one-year deal for $4.5 million with the Dallas Stars.
In his only season with the Flyers, Jagr battled through groin injuries but still recorded 19 goals and 54 points, and his unmatched work ethic should leave a lasting impression on his former teammates.
"The way he prepared for games and the way he practiced, it’s good that the young guys got to witness that," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said.
definitely worth the 3.5 mil last year. seeing him salute pens fans was the best part. not crying about this lose though. a 40 year old isn't worth 4.5 mil. glad to see him prove a lot of people wrong this year.
It was a good move for Dallas. They need a veteran like Jagr. Last year I think he made a big difference for Philly on the ice and in the locker room. Not typical of Jagr but at 40 I think he has finally matured.

I just don't know how I feel about this. I know I don't think the Flyers should of gave him $ 4.5 mil . Just don't think his old legs are worth that unless they are gonna let him play from Feb. 1 onward. 84 games just seemed like it was a lot for him this past year. By the 2nd round of PO's he was gassed and looked like he had 12" cement blocks on his skates.
Look at the bright side. The Flyers got rid of him before he had a chance to turn into Jagr. $4.5 mil is insane for him. He definately started losing a step near the end of the season and was pretty much a non factor in the play offs.
I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.
