What about Bob?

<span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">Flyers trade G Bobrovsky to Blue Jackets</span>

PITTSBURGH (AP) The Philadelphia Flyers have traded goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the Columbus Blue Jackets for three draft choices.

The Flyers received second- and fourth-round picks in this weekend's NHL draft as well as a fourth-round choice next year.

The Blue Jackets get the promising Bobrovsky, who went 42-23-10 with a 2.73 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in two seasons with the Flyers. The 23-year-old Bobrovsky was a solid backup to veteran Ilya Bryzgalov and could contend for a starting spot for the Blue Jackets, who are coming off a miserable season in which they finished with the worst record in the NHL.

Columbus gave up 3.13 goals per game in 2011-12, 28th in the league as veterans Steve Mason and Curtis Sanford struggled behind a porous defense.

The deal was announced on Friday.</span>

Re: What about Bob?

"Book it" wasn't Ron Burgundy's line. He was just a band wagon master with a man crush on Tom Brady. I once had a 10 page argument with him about whether or not Tom Brady won a national championship with Michigan. (He didn't. Griese was the starting QB that year) Riding the pine is apparently a qualification for a national championship according to Mr. Burgundy. "Book it" was Mr. Goldfinger's schtick. Goldie also looooooved stats. I used to call him Rainman. I think he moved out of the state and hasn't been around for awhile.

Re: What about Bob?

no I don't think you want a backup setting the pine at $1.7 mil and not to mention the draft picks and cap space were great return for a undrafted player. We will need the space to put Parise, Ryan or Weber on the team. And yes I was happy to see JVR go and get a good young D man in return.

Honesty is my only excuse.

Re: What about Bob?

That was going to be my nest question on how you guys feel about JVR being traded. There was some silly article on Yahoo sports about how the writer couldn't understand why any player would sign with Philly. He used the fact that everyone who was signed to a long term contract was shipped off not long after as his reasoning.
