Re: Wallace

Mikey is going to learn the Steelers will sign him when they are darn well ready.....or not.

Re: Wallace

He needs to understand there is only so much they can do!

They have made it very clear they want to keep him around for a long time but right now aren't in the position to do so.

Sign the tender and see what gets worked out before the season or next season.

On a side note: if the rumors are true and he does want larry Fitzgerald money, I say . He is good and has potential to get a little better but he is not Fitzgerald. (IMO)

Re: Wallace

He is GOOD-in the regular season. Can he beat playoff double coverage? Fitz can catch 85 yard TDs too, you don't need 3.5 40 times to do it--Ward did the same thing. Wallace also doesn't have anywhere close to the ball skills Fitz has, and, compared to Fitz, is useless in the red zone. Where were the Steelers biggest offensive problems last year? The red zone. That's not the fault of Wallace entirely, as they struggles there under Arians prior to Wallace arriving. Can Wallace put Ray Lewis to sleep?

Re: Wallace

As far as I am concerned they might as well trade him.............he is acting like a 2 year old child, and if he wants that kind of money, and he goes somewhere else next offseason the Steelers will get nothing in return.............I would think they could possibly get a second or third round pick for him, or trade him for another player.........it would be worth it in my opinion, the guy is good, but he isn't as good as he thinks he is............

Re: Wallace

So, some guy at NFL.com reports that an ESPN.com report says Mike Wallace will hold out as long as possible, or until June 15th. I can see how that makes one a greedy SOB. This is all posturing in the high-finance world of todays NFL contract negotiations. Wallace was the "biggest loser" this offseason. Interest in his services was minimal, and the price (a first round pick) was more than anyone was willing to pay. In typical Steeler fashion, the team has won this round. The Steelers will not over reach to sign Wallace to a long term deal.

This is simple, Wallace has two options. Sign the tender, go out and put up numbers, and let the chips fall where they may next off season. Option number two is to sit out the season, and watch his stock fall.

“did you get all that on camera sport?”

Re: Wallace

I'd yank the offer and make him play for what he's getting paid in his current contract. The heck with him! Let him sit out a year. He's no Fitzgerald!

I see said the Blind Carpenter to his Deaf Helper as he picked up his Hammer and Saw!

Not really--the Steelers don't have much room for guys like that. Hence the success.
