Could Tebow end up in Pittsburgh?

Denver just signed Peyton Manning. Now they need to get rid of Tebow to avoid a QB controversy. Mike Wallace is a RFA. I saw on the news Denver is interested in Mike Wallace to be a deep threat for Manning. Do you think the Bronco's would send us Tebow as part of a package in exchange for Wallace? Obviously he wouldn't be the starter. Charlie Batch is a very good #2 or #3 but he's like 92 and getting fragile. Byron Leftwich is also injury prone and Dixon hasn't come along. If they offered a 1st round pick and Tebow would we take it? What is Wallace worth? Probably won't happen but the story on the news got me thinking. What do you guys think?

Re: Could Tebow end up in Pittsburgh?

Why would the Steelers, in the cap situation they are in, take on a very high priced former #1 pick to be a backup? I might make that deal if I were the Steelers, only as part of a 3 team trade to address an actual area of concern, like offensive line, secondary, or halfback. They have Tebow on the roster already in Dixon, they don't need two guys who are running backs that can kinda throw. Obviously, Denver is not all that enthralled with Tebow, considering that they are taking a flyer on an aging QB coming off an injury.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Why would Denver offer a first round pick and Tebow when they could just pick up Wallace for a first round pick?

The problem is that I don't know what I don't know.

Chaos, it's pure hypothetical, I don't know what the requirements are for taking a RFA. SteelerFan I know we need lineman and CB's I was just saying this situation could be presented in talks between the teams, I doubt we would go for it but if they want Wallace I could see them testing the waters though truthfully for probably less like Tebow and a 3rd rounder for Wallace, and as you said it's not really worth it unless we can swap Tebow to someone else for an O-lineman. I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

I think the tender on Wallace is a first round pick. Meaning somebody could offer Wallace a contract and if he accepts it the Steelers have a chance to match it. If they don't match it they get the other teams first round pick.....or something along those lines.

The problem is that I don't know what I don't know.

Yes, its a first rounder for Wallace, but the Steelers COULD agree to accept Tebow instead of the first rounder. They would be out of their minds to do so, and I would expect Colbert to be fired on the spot if he did something so stupid, but they could do that.

I couldn't think of a worse move for the Steelers to make.

Signing T.O., or bringing back Arians would be far worse moves.

Offering Terry Bradshaw a contract to play Quarterback wouldn't be near as bad as offering ariens his job back.
