Crosby cleared for contact

When will he actually play? I'm hoping for March 20th, but I suspect sooner.

Re: Crosby cleared for contact

When he comes back, he comes back. At this point, I don't really care. It will be nice when he does, but anymore, the team simply cannot count on their captain to play. Bylsma won't make sure he's protected, so it will probably happen again.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Sid plays a physical game. If he wont change his style (and I wouldn't expect him to), I dont think he can be protected. Do you want to pound an opponent for a legal hit on Sid that may have been the result of Sid putting himself in the situation, after the fact? That might make us feel good, but it wont help Sid. He'll still have to take off another three months.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.

I'm wondering if we'll see Sid with Duper and Staal on the wings? That seems to be what everyone has been talking about. What a nightmare for opposing teams. That line along with the Malkin line. Not a bad problem for the Pens to have.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

I don't know, Gretzky eeked out a nice career with a very similar setup, though Gretzky didn't hit anyone, ever. Anything remotely borderline should be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Steckel should have been beaten down right away. Hedman's hit was very high and from behind. Protect your star players. As we saw from the Letang/Nystrom thing, the NHL won't. And I don't mean like what happened in Dallas, where, later in the game, Asham asked for permission from Bylsma, then, gentleman that he is, actually gave Nystrom the option to drop the gloves. Dave Semenko and McSorely did not ask permission, nor did they ever give the option when one of their guys were hit. Can you imagine Bobby Clarke taking a dirty hit and Dave Schultz asking permission, then offering a challenge to the guy? It's different now, but the principle is the same. Crosby should only be on the ice when Engelland or Asham are around.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Re: Crosby cleared for contact

Crosby mentioned that he could be in the line-up as soon as this sunday,. But I'm guessing they won't want him coming back against Boston so it may be sometime next week on the road.

Maybe Asham should be on Sids line.

Aint that the truth. Very few have 2 pair of true shut down defensemen. Crosby back on the ice should boost everyones numbers.

Why do they call it common sense when it is so rare.
