officiating bungles

In the spirit of how badly the Pirates got jobbed the other night by an ump who probably just wanted to go home, I put the following to you:
What is the WORST officiating call you have ever seen? In any sport.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.

Re: officiating bungles

The coin toss. Troy getting jobbed out of an INT against the Colts. The ump missing a strike against Cabrera in Game 7 of the 92 NLCS. The Hasselbeck chop block call in SB 40. And my personal favorite:

PERSONAL FOUL, UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS, #92, DEFENSE. FELL WITH HIS FULL WEIGHT ON THE QUARTERBACK.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Re: officiating bungles

In reality, the worst all time officiating call in sports was probably allowing the Korean guy to come out for round 15 against Boom Boom Mancini. The above calls cost us games, that decision cost a man his life.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Re: officiating bungles

The absolutely worst call I have ever seen was Troy's interception of Peyton Manning where he made the pick, ran, fumbled then recovered his own fumble. The ref then promptly gave the ball back to Indy although through this whole thing, Troy was never touched. I very rarely ever complain about officiating because bad calls are part of the game. This one left me flabbergasted and to this day, sends me into a near rage every time I think about it.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Re: officiating bungles

See, I think football has the worst officiating and baseball usually has the best. But that call in the Pirate game the other night was SO bad, it made football refs stand up and take notice.
