The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles Thread

Since Peppy called the agreement, it looks like we will have Football this season.

How will the Eagles do this season? Where will Kolb go? Is Brett Favre unretiring for the 100th time and coming to be the backup/QB coach for Philadelphia? How will our defense be under a new coordinator? Will Akers (the last player of the Reid era) still kick for us? And will the Eagles win the Superbowl in Indianapolis (of course the year I leave the city)???

3B NRA NWTF: I do have to fine you. That will be a thousand dollars Canadian, or 10 American dollars if you prefer.

Re: The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles Thread

Looks like Kolb is going to Arizona (McNABB to Vikings) and in return for Kolb we get CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick.

Not bad for a QB who has a losing record Don't get me wrong, I think Kolb is a solid QB, but, I think teams are overrating him.

I have no idea why this Kolb trade is taking so long. Hopefully the Eagles don't try to get too much for him...

If that don't work...

It seems it's all but official (just like McNABB), but, I it appears what type of draft pick is holding up the deal

Re: The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles Thread

The deal is Complete!

So, we actually get a 2nd round draft pick (the round we picked Kolb) and CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

I like it!

Kolb will get a new contract extension of five years for $63 million, with a little more than $22 million guaranteed. Kolb will be under contract for six years.

The Eagles receive cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round pick.

Kolb began last season as the Eagles ' starter but left the first game with a concussion and ending up losing the No. 1 job to Michael Vick, who enjoyed a career resurgence in 2010.

Kolb requested a trade from the Eagles so he can be a starter in the NFL.

Kolb spent his first three seasons as a backup and sometimes wondered if he'd ever get his chance. He stepped in when Donovan McNabb was injured in the 2009 season opener at Carolina. The 2007 second-round draft choice promptly became the first NFL quarterback to throw for 300 yards in his first two starts.

His emergence made McNabb expendable, and the No. 2 overall pick in the 1999 draft was traded to the Washington Redskins for a pair of draft picks.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

You Philly fans made out on this deal - big time!

I'll definitely take this deal too! DRC isn't a shut down corner, but he is still very good and when he is paired up with Samuel that is a heck of a good tandem! They still need a LB, S, and DE though...

Re: The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles Thread

Asante and Rogers Cromartie with Cole and Babin rushing? sounds like a turnover waiting to happen. I think Plaxico will be an eagle by saturday but I'd rather them ink Desean then spend a penny on another jailbird.

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

ch..ch..ch..*click*..BOOM
