In an age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

He's not going to kill the Pens. The damage is more psychological than actual. Even with Jagr and Max, they are still worse off for losing Richards and Carter. Their only real improvement was in goal.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.

I for one find it hilarious how when Richards is with the flyers he's a nobody to pens fans, not worth mentioning as one of the top players in the league, but now that he's gone he's suddenly irreplaceable. Flyers got a handful of really good young guys, including one of the best prospects in the game, and opened up alot of cap space to sign an exceptional goalie and add to their incredible depth. Plus, Giroux will still be a perenniel all-star and if JVR can keep half the confidence he had in the playoffs last year he won't be far behind. The Richard and Carter trades were hard to swallow for sure but it does not leave a gaping whole in the offense by any stretch as pittsburgh fans would like to have everyone believe.

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

$1.8 million per---they overpaid. One thing he does bring is that Max is a good guy in the room, and that's important for a team that was in such disarray they had to trade both their captain and an assistant to fix it.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Top 5 in goals against, saves, minutes, shutouts, and wins is how I reckon him to be an exceptional goalie.

I hardly think that James Van Riemesdyk's maturation will be the difference between anohter run at the cup and having to completely lower expectations mid-way through the year *cough* penguins *cough*.

Re: Talbot to the Flyers for 5 years!

If ANY team had to have half their roster filled with minor league never will be's, and had a defensive pairing that were afraid to hit anyone, they would struggle. Philly will love Max, though. He works his butt off every second of every shift. It hurts to see him leave, and it will be hard to hate him.

But we'll find a way.

No worries SF. This season is going to work itself out for sure. Flyers still need to put a team together so there's not much sense in chatting at this point lol.
