Flyers with the #8 pick...

... Get

8. Philadelphia Flyers (from Columbus Blue Jackets): C Sean Couturier
Before yesterday the Flyers weren't even picking on Friday, now they leave with a guy that was once considered the best prospect in the draft? That worked out pretty well. Should help fill the hole down the line left by Richards and Carter. Two thumbs up.

Where have you been? I had to work late... Oh these? Yeah, it was 'camo day' at work again .

Only the wildest optimist can actually believe that they are a better team after these trades than they were before.

Re: Flyers with the #8 pick...

I dont buy the argument that they didn't think they could win it all with the lineup they had either. They went to the finals last year and ran into a buzzsaw this year. I cant knock the goalie upgrade but IMO they paid a steep price for that.

Re: Flyers with the #8 pick...

well this is interesting

Derek Mathers made a rapid impression on the OHL in his debut season as a 17-year-old and quickly made a name for himself as one of the toughest players in the league in picking up 27 fighting majors. He was selected in the 7th round, 206th overall by the philadelphia flyers.

Homers got something else brewing and rumor is that it smells like Brad Richards or Gagne...

Richards and Carter were slowing and this Brayden Schenn kid is supposed to be the real deal!

If you continue to do what you're doing, you'll only get what you have gotten.
