Just saw this and all i have to say is WOW! I am not sure what to think yet. Not so sure i like a nine year deal for Bryz but man the flyers will have some very young players with Schenn and Voracek, Simmonds and the 8 pick.

Me thinks PH is not done, I think he tries to move up in the draft.

I'm not completely sold on these deals for the Flyers. You're giving up two top talents in their prime for two average young guys and an unproven young talent. What is the gameplan? Are they not looking toward next year? The D isn't getting any younger in Philly. I know Richards had a bit of a down year but he is one of the top two way players in the game. And a good penalty killer. Now other teams can concentrate on Giroux(sp) and JVR without having to worry about Richards or Carter. The guys they got in return won't worry many teams next year. These have to be moves for the future and not right now. I do like Simmonds though. Wished the Pens had got him at the trade deadline last year when it was rumored they were about to make a deal for him.

Where have you been?

Wait a minute. You mean Richards wasn't the fearless leader that the hockey media always raved he was? Shocking!

When the C and the A both get sent packing at the same time, there was definitely an issue. From what I hear, Pronger HATED Richards. A good hockey move by the Flyers if it pans out though. They were not going to win a Cup with the current roster.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Confirms what I suspected during the spiral this past season. Something just didn't seem right and it really seemed as though their was a definite locker room problem. Never heard anything definitive to back up my claims.... but I think this move confirms it.

JVR and Giroux are gonna have to step it up another notch and hopefully these young guys will pan out. We'll see.

Where have you been? I had to work late... Oh these? Yeah, it was 'camo day' at work again .

Wow! Not sure what to think about this. Richards was a heck of a two way player and Carter was their top scorer last year. If I'm not mistaken wasn't Bryz 0-4 in last year's playoffs?
