Carnell Lake

I didn't want to continue to highjack the Dan Bylsma thread so I figured I'd start a new one.

Last thing posted by Steelersfan58: Lake could play CB, was a LB in college, and a standout SS, so if anyone can make Troy better, it would be Lake.

It isn't Troy I am worried about, it is everyone else. There is no one after Troy and Ike that is that good in coverage. Since the Steelers do not beleive in free agency (which in this day and age I am still amazed that approach works) they need to develop the people they have and that hasn't happened. I am honestly suprised that Ray Horton got a DC job.

Re: Carnell Lake

It's not easy to find CBs who fit that defense. Horton got a DC job because he worked for Lebeau, and teams are hoping that some of the wizardry rubbed off. Troy has room to improve, too. But you're 100% right, the other guys really have no place in the NFL. Willie Gay has been shown to be terrible. McFadden had a crappy year. They don't have to be shut down, but they do have to cover long enough for Silverback and Woodley to turn the QB's brain into mush.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.
