Chara

Was last nights hit by Chara just finishing off his check or was it dirty?
I think with the history of the two teams and two players involved there was intent to injure.

Re: Chara

I watched it a couple times last night and I didn't see anything that would lead me to believe it was intentional. He seemed to be going right at him...I mean it wasn't as if he held up till he was close to the corner. I think if he had wanted to really hurt him, he could have carried him a lot closer to the corner before he broke contact. Pacioretty slid a long way on the boards. But Chara will be the only one that knows for sure.

Why do they call it common sense when it is so rare.

Re: Chara

Wasn't clean. Dirty??? Maybe. Totally unnecessary. Worse than Cooke's hit on Savard, IMO. What was the reason he hit him. The puck was already down the ice, and Chara knew it. I do wish that it was Subban, though, because he'd finally be getting his.

Re: Chara

It's 100% deserving of a suspension. If it was Cooke, he's be gone. If it were Lucic, he'd be gone. Chara doesn't deserve any special treatment.

Please look at the Pic I posted .... he carried him all the way to the buckle and he has his forearm pushing his head over the boards. You maybe right but I'm suspicious.

Re: Chara

That is nasty, mean, and intentional. Cooke got 4 games for hitting a guy from behind after the guy saw him coming and turned his back. If Chara doesn't get 10, it's a travesty. But then again, this is the NHL, so he probably won't get anything. Sneaking up behind a guy and suckerpunching him in a direct attempt to end his career is only worth 4 games, but leaving the bench to keep a teammate from getting killed by a no talent thug gets 10.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Re: Chara

This is why the NFL is the top sport in the country, and the NHL is behind basketball. The NFL is CONTROLLED chaos. Imagine if Ryan Clark took Boldins head and slammed it into the goalpost. Clark's career would be over, deservedly so. For crying out loud, you can't even hit hard anymore, which is going to bring the game down in popularity.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Thanks for uploading that pic I've been trying for the last hour. LOL
I think that pic says it all, Chara is even looking at the buckle.

Did you Snopes that he was trying to end his career?

If you leave the bench to become a 3rd man in anything...you pretty much seal your fate. Rules is rules. Let's enforce the ones we got before we go and make 100 more.

My eyes hurt. Just deal the cards.

Re: Chara

Not asking for any more rules. But if Cooke went up behind Tavares and did the same thing, he'd be out indefinitely. Martin is just as bad as Cooke.
