Organize new club

Hey Everyone,

Since it appears that it's difficult to find a club to join or find land to lease. Perhaps we can get a group interested in starting a new club and purchasing land. Sound off if interested. I'd be most interested in land in 3D near Lake Wallenpaupack.

Re: Organize new club

I still own a house in Greentown and lived in the area for many years. If you do this I would be interested. My wife hunts also so we'd be two slots.

I live in the Lehigh Valley and would be interested as well. I have a son whom also would be in as well. Thanks for thinking of at least trying to organize something.

Re: Organize new club

Best of luck to you. Several years ago in Schuylkill county I tried to do this myself. Had several guys putting money into a non profit account. Over a few years we had quite a bit of money in it. Then slowly guys started dropping out. Needless to say it fell apart. To this day I'm upset we didn't make it. Would have been nice to have a good group of guys to hunt, land manage, and own a piece of heaven with.

Re: Organize new club

You might have a better chance of just leasing a large tract instead of buying it ,,form a club and lease the land this would be alot cheaper and less hassle and you could probaly be able to lease more acres then you could buy

Re: Organize new club

I was reminded by the forum gods that I need to post a cost breakdown. I will be sure to do so once I can get an idea of the interest and. Leasing is an option but buying is a better investment and can actually turn profitable for the club. 20k is a bit more than I'd like to invest but with serious interest I'm not totally opposed. I was thinking more along the lines of something like this.

20 hunters
5k investment each
100k property

or a close variation like:
15 hunters
7k investment
5 floating spots to lease out at $xx
Return invested in land and/or distributed to founders.

keep the thoughts rolling and if anyone has any lead on good land please share with us.

PS. I also have a home in 3D very near to the big lake. The land would be cheaper with no structure. I'm all for camping it if the majority is cool with that. Having a cabin on the property is not a necessity for me.

Also anyone with the drive feel free to step up and help see this thing through. I can execute but wouldn't mind some other leaders pulling along the way. This can be a reality relatively quickly with the right group and the right property to pull the trigger on. Feel free to PM me.
