In search of a lease

Does anyone have any openings in their lease or know of any smaller leases that will be available next season? Looking for something in se, ne, or central pa. Will help with whatever is necessary on the lease. Its just me so you don't have to worry about a whole family moving in on ya. Thanks

Your post has only been up since 4:42 pm and less than 24 hours later you are miffed because no one has responded yet, that won't help you. You have to realize that people with leases of hunting camps have a lot invested, both monetary and in labor. If people join that do not get along or fit into the members already there everyone in the group is affected negatively. Many people will not invite anyone into their group they do not know at least for a while, long enough so they can judge if the person will fit into the group and get an idea about their character. Once someone pays their money to join the lease, they are stuck with them for at least a year until the lease is renewed. One the other side of the coin, I would not join a group of strangers to hunt if I don't know them for a decent amount of time. Just something to think about.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

I posted a camp opening and had over 40 responses. I narrowed it down to 6. Five didn't work for me and another change their mind when they found out what all was involved. It's just not that easy.

A thot from a different angle.............

I buy and sell timber. At any one time, I probably know a dozen landowners who don't live on the property, maybe inherited it or whatever, and are plain old tired of paying taxes and dealing with the headaches that result from owning ground they have no real use for.

None of my properties would be in the areas you specify, so get creative and talk to guys who work timber in the regions you want. Surely one of them would welcome a conversation about getting some money out of the place. I'd bet a cold beer they know someone who'd be interested in leasing.

I sent a PM, though it is for a club not a lease. Let me know if you want more info.
