Ohio Deer Hunting short-term leasing
I just leased a 300 acre tract in Ross Co. Ohio. My son and I have hunted this farm for turkey for several years, but did not hunt it for deer. Another group of guys had leased the farm for deer hunting. Their lease ended this season, and the landowner raised his asking price beyond their reach. A group from MI apparently offered more, so the landowner planned to lease it to them. Since the landowner is a friend of mine, he offered to lease it to me. My 12 year old wants to kill one particular deer, and that deer does NOT live on this farm. We spent all of last season hunting this deer, and plan to again this season. So, I have leased a great piece of land that I do not plan to hunt this season! I am NOT an outfitter, I cannot guarantee anything aside from providing a GREAT place to hunt to a very limited number of folks. I have arranged for lodging and food at a buddy's lodge. The lodge is only 10 minutes from the property.
As a cost breakdown, I leased this property for 8,000.00 To me, that is a mountain of money. My hope is to allow a total of 4 hunters in for a week at a time. The total cost for the property to hunt, food, lodging, would be 1500.00/person. Two friends are going to be on the property starting Oct. 22. They will be leaving on Oct.28. So, that would leave the entire rut, shotgun season, muzzy season, and late bow season for anyone interested.
As I said, I am NOT an outfitter. I have NO stands up on this property, but know it well and am willing to point anyone interested in the right direction. I can help with game recovery or setting stands, and will come around the lodge to visit. This will be YOUR hunt, on YOUR land.
I encourage anyone that is interested in a great hunt, on great ground, to PM or text at 937 205 6000. Address available for anyone wanting to look it over via Google Earth.
