T/C Contender scope mount

Getting back into the single-shots after many years.

I have a T/C Contender stainless steel frame with a 10" .22 Hornet barrel. I will be looking to put a scope on the T/C and was wondering what type of scope mount is being used today.

20 years ago I thought I had a one piece scope base and ring set on my .22lr Match barrel, but I don't think they make it any more.

Steve , you must be talking about Duo- Mount it was a one piece mount, I have one of them mounts, I think T/C made them, you usual see some on Ebay, for high dollar. Most of mine are weaver mounts. Wade

Yep, that was it, the duo-mount. Too bad, it was a great mount.

I've been looking at the Weaver mounts which is probably the way I'm going to go.

the weaver base will give you the greatest range of eye relief adjustments. the dual dovetail bases are stronger than the weaver setup, if you're looking for strength. I would use burris signature rings with either.

I'm going to go with the Weaver aluminum set up for now. The scope will be going on a .22 Hornet, so it's not like it will be on a Magnum or anything.

Re: T/C Contender scope mount

The part # for silver weaver for contender is 92AS.
Get some silver rings and a silver 2-7X32 scope for color continuity.
You won't need the the anvil anchor of a Burris base to keep your zero with the soft recoil of a Hornet.
Good shootin', Steve!

Re: T/C Contender scope mount

I picked up a 2-6x Bushnell (silver) from a guy on another forum. Came with a set of silver aluminum rings. Ordered the silver Weaver mount from Midway USA, just waiting for it to get here.

Wow, Steve, saw your pics on SP today!
You've got that .223 ready to go as soon as this Ice Age passes. The stainless super 14 really brings out the joy in your 'Angry Cougar' slabside. You will be driving tacks with that setup, for sure!

Re: T/C Contender scope mount

Thanks, I had wanted a .223 barrel for a long time. I wasn't counting on the next ice age to start!!!

I also have a 7-30 Waters barrel coming, but probably won't get around to messing with that for a few months.

Re: T/C Contender scope mount

Steve,
Can't wait to see your newest and bluest companion to the Silver on silver .223. New one gonna be all black or blue, right?
I monitor 24 HR campfire also.. Great snag!
