6.8 spc contender carbine

I just picked up a 16 1/4 inch contender barrel is 6.8spc. I plan to use it as a little carbine for coyote and deer hunting. It can use normal 6.8 ammo as well as ammo formed from 30-30 and 375 win brass. Anyone shooting one of these? Any advise on loads and such?

Re: 6.8 spc contender carbine

We have one, it was built from a longer barrel. My father had the barrel cut down to 18" and then tapered and recrowned ,reblued. It is my daughter's rifle. We have shot alot of factory ammo through it, then I had a good friend load up some shells for her. She is shooting 110 gr. Sierra spitzer in front of 22 grains of IMR 4198. It is on light side .....but so is she, It works for her! Sorry for crappy pic....it was pouring lol
