encore accuracy

any reason or proof that a .50 encore is more accurate than a omega?

Re: encore accuracy

Someone that owns both could probably answer that best. I don't I only have an Encore 50 Inline but it's sure is accurate IMO...I just wish I didn't have to clean it after every shot at the range.. However that how black powder inlines are. Not much to cleaning them..Just at the range when your walking your group to the Point of impact on the target..the bullet seats without any kind of stress or resistance in the clean barrel...

Re: encore accuracy

I wouldn't trade my Omega for an Encore, no way no how!

Got my invitation to Darrell's wedding in the mail today! No location on the invitation???

Re: encore accuracy

Although both weapons are inherently accurate, I prefer the Encore given the flexibility of the platform. My Encore 50 cal is capable of less than 1 moa accuracy and operates with little maintenance using Blackhorn 209 powder. There is no change in POI between the first shot on a clean barrel and the 10th, nor is there any difficulty in loading.

Re: encore accuracy

The Encore is the way to go, simply because you have the option of switching barrels.

Re: encore accuracy

Wonder if I have problems of seating the bullets in my Encore because I use the Triple 7 pellet. Maybe I should be using the loose Triple 7 powder... I would say on about the 3 or 4 load gee I better clean it because seating the bullet gets a lot harder. I will have to try the loose powder you use and even some of the Triple 7 loose. I have it I my as well try it!!!

By the way...the cheap Wolf 209.. Love that litte gun in thick stuff or at 100 yard shots or less.

I do have a cheap CVA Wolf 209 that I can load at least 5 times with the Triple 7 pellets beore swabbing the bore and cleaning. it might be the use of pellets instead of loose that make me have a harder time to seat bullets without cleaning???????????????????

Re: encore accuracy

I have the Encore Prohunter 50 cal M\L barrel. I use Blackhorn 209, the MMP Sabots, and the 325gr. Hornady gummy tip bullet. The Prohunter will give me cloverleafs at 100 yards from a bench rest all day long.

I can load an easy ten shots before I have to swab the barrel to get a sabot and bullet down it.

I did a lot of research on the T\C before I purchased it. I already owned the Encore-Prohunter frame, but I didn't want to spend the big bucks for the barrel unless it was dead nutz accurate.

I am glad I bought the Prohunter barrel.

I shoot an almost identical setup/load and get similar results. Very very accurate.

Re: encore accuracy

My Encore 50 cal also shoots cloverleafs at 100 yards. I am sure the Omega is just as accurate but lacks the flexibility of the Encore.
The other thing is...All of my Encore and T/C stuff is Pre-S&W which in my mind makes a BIG difference!
