E A Brown. 6.5 MM BRM Pro/Con

Anyone own one of the E A Browm 6.5 BRM 97 Rifles, Encore and or Contender?
It's a 30/30 case and a .264 bullet! It's a point blank to 300 yard gun! It shines with the 140 grain bullet. It hits like an 190 grain 308 Win! It would be near equal to the 6.5 Swede but has less kick and uses less powder! Go to www. eabco.com and do an inquiry on the 6.5 BRM!

Re: E A Brown. 6.5 MM BRM Pro/Con

Here is a good article on knock down while hunting. Using the right bullet and the velocity...More velocity can end up in damaged meat and wounded animals..interesting to see logic here on knock down. I just purchased a 6.5 BRM Encore barrel ... I was debating about getting the 6.5 Swede Encore Barrel. http://www.eabco.com/Reports/report05.htm

I have a E>A> Brown 260 Rem Barrel for my encore, extremely accurate, I thought about the 6.5 BRM when I got this. The 260 will do anything that will do and you can buy ammo for it most anywhere...

I agree on the .260. My .260 barrel on my Encore is my goto deer rifle. It's a fantastic caliber with great accuracy, range, and lots of reloading options. Having a rimmed case like the 6.5 BRM would be nice in a single shot like the Encore but I wouldn't see any other advantage.

The older I get, the stronger gravity becomes.
