H&R Model 157 30-30

I just picked up this gun and was wondering if anyone had it and how it was in the woods. The gun is new. I never saw a gun with the forearm going up to the end of the barrel.

Thanks

If that gun is new, it is new old stock. They haven`t been made for many years. That gun had the mannlicher stock option. I have been looking for a nice one for a while. It should have open sights as well.

The gun is new in the box. I bought 2 30-30 this one and a Marlin 03030 for $300. Both are brand new but over 30 years old. The H&R does have open sights. I have 2 son one 8 and the other 6. These where going to be their first deer rifles.

I bought one for my daughter 6 years ago. A couple of deer and a wild boar have fallen to the 30/30. Her hornet barrel has killed turkey, fox, and racoons.

That 30--30 will do a fine job and they normally shoot very well

I have one, but mine has the nickel receiver and it's a 22 hornet.
