Rossi questions

I am thinking of getting a Rossi single shot center fire rifle and I was wondering if I get one can the barrels be easily changed to other calibers? Also does anyone have any input on these as to how they perform?
Thanks

Re: Rossi questions

I have a rossi heavy barrel 223 and it has served me better than i would ever have imagined. numerous ground hog kills at 500 yards. more than i can remember at 300 yards and every range in between. i even got a doe this year with one well placed heart and lung shot. easily shoots 0.75 at 100 yards with 55gr ammo. i love the gun. good luck!

Re: Rossi questions

Yeah I have seen mixed reviews, but some people do like them, and you now how people just hate stuff sometimes. I got it off the guy so know I am trying to figure out if I can get other barrels for it. It seems it may be tough being an older model.

Re: Rossi questions

I bought one for my son, I'm not real impressed with the rifle (30-06), I can't get much of a grouping past 100 yards or so. The shotgun barrel works just fine. I may have just gotten a dud, I'm not sure. If I ever want another single shot, I'll buy an Encore.

Re: Rossi questions

I sold a bunch of them when I worked as a lodge mgr at Dick's years back. About 50% came back with issues. One run in particular had a bad habit of unlocking at the shot and we even had one customer take a .243 brass right to his eye ball! He was not a happy camper! Those ethings are garbage imo.

Re: Rossi questions

I have one in a .223 and it shoots fairly well for a single shot with a stiff trigger. I group 2" @ 100yards. I bought it thinking I could get replacement barrels just like you are and called up rossi to get another caliber but was told they will not make other barrels for the guns like H&R used to.

Re: Rossi questions

Other than the barrels that come in the combo packages you can't buy other barrels, except for the Rossi Wizard. I bought a Wizard in 3006 and a 7.62x39 barrel. I also have a Rossi combo 20 gage and 50cal in-line, the combo barrels won't work on the Wizard.
