Thinking of buying a used #1 in 30-06. Should I be on the look out for any inherent problems?

Alrighty then!

Yes, consistant accuracy. The trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Beautiful rifles, I love them, and hate them.

I like mine, sometimes they can be a little fussy about the load your shooting. They are a really nice firearm and work flawlessly. Some of the early ones had a issue with the stocks rusting the receivers, but Ruger fixed them.

I have three, .243, 7mmWeatherby Mag, and a 25.06, I have not shot the 7mm but have shot the .243 & 25.06. It took me a while until I found the right bullet, primer, and powder. I would strongly suggest you shoot it before you commit, some have accuracy problems.

Won the 7 Weatherby Mag at an RMEF Banquet in 1998.

I carry a gun because I'm to young to die and to old to take a ass whipping.

It's a good thing you haven't shot your "7mm WBY", the shells probably wouldn't fit.

If .270 Wby fit in a 7mm Wby, that could be worse yet, if the misunderstanding were reversed!

Hopefully Weatherby design prevents chambering for an instance such as this....

Your right! I posted the wrong caliber but I still haven't fired the 270 Weatherby Mag. I had the 7 on my mind as I been looking at one.
