6.5 brm

Well with setting around watching paint dry, I thought I’d dig out a eabco Barrel for my encore in 6.5 brm out and work up some loads. I forgot how long I had this over 10 years.
Seeing how’s there’s no data to be found for this critter, your on your own.
I had worked up loads for 120’s with H-4350 37 grains, I figured I’d give the 140’s a try , the manufacturer claims they our the cats meow .
Many moons ago I purchased some core-locs from midway they shoot great out of my 260. So I started with R-17 35 grains and they crono at 2050 FPS 2” group. I work up to 38 and it was showing signs of pressure, the group stayed the same. So I tried IMR-4831 34 grains Crono 2000fps 1”-3/4”. I bumped it up to 36 grains and under 3/4” I was preatty pleased crono at 2130. No sign of pressure, nearly a compressed load. I’m goin to try some sierras next time.

That sounds interesting, just wondering, did you ever try IMR 4064 or Alliant R 15 powder in that cartridge?

I don’t see any issues with using any 7-30 waters load data and starting at the minimum and work up. Had one in 14 inch contender and always used 30-30 brass necked down. Was one of the most accurate guns I had. Of course use at own risk.
