Encore Prohunter 460 S & W VS 500 S & W cal

I always wanted the 460 S & W rifle barrel.. However I do have a 4570 24 inch barrel...If the 460 S & W is near the 4570 it might be better to get the 500 S & W barrel instead.. I do like how I can use the 45 Colt and 454 Casull in the 460 S & W barrel. You people that own the 460 S & W and the 500 S & W what your opinion on both calibers?

https://youtu.be/TT5x54YkqIM I found this but this is hand gun comparison.. um looks like the 460 in a hand gun penetrated the boards better during the first round of shooting..

Keep in mind there's no free lunch when shooting shorter cases in a long chamber, especially when using lead bullets..

i'd go with the 500 linebaugh. as soon as i can get the money together i want a 23" MGM heavy factory barrel in 500L. you can go to the 50 alsakan(just a streched out 500L) for the velocity, but a 500L going around 1200-1300fps with a 450gr boolit puts the smackdown on anything it touches. deer and black bear look out, the 500L has come to town.

The 460 S & W Encore rifle has a peep sight.. I wonder if your really hurting yourself if the short barrel really has a large muzzle jump?

460 S&W is the way to go, One chamber can shoot three different ammunition's! 45 colt is plenty. 454 is better, full power 460 can kill anything in this world! NEED I SAY MORE

my 460 is in a NOS ruger #1, I have dies, cases and bullets. but have not worked with it yet, I got a super deal on it from a friends estate. I am going to put a 2.5x8-36 leupold scope on it. eastbank.

Now that I'm getting up in years I wonder of the Ghost Sights that come with the Kathadin would work against you. people who own this short barrel? Do you change the Ghost sight out to a scope and or red dot?

I have a 460 and I put 1.5x4 Leupold pig Plex cross hair on mine and a muzzle brake, the later really takes the skip out of its step ..
