New England Firearms

Seriously, am I the only one that has to raise their head off the butt stock to see through a scope on this rifle?? I have a 22 hornet that I would love to use more often but won't cause I can't shoot it reliably cause I have to raise my cheek off the butt stock to see through the scope. I just googled butt stocks for them and was unable to locate a raised cheek pad on an after market butt stock!! What gives???

Re: New England Firearms

The Beartooth comb raising kit works great on my NEFs. Just an option.

Re: New England Firearms

Thanks Jerry! Was thinking of using one just wished there was a butt stock I could change out to. I'll probably end up using the Beartooth.

Re: New England Firearms

Fox,
You may not realize it but H&R and NEF are interchangeable. Search for H&R handi rifle stocks. Many online retailers stock the Choate synthetic stocks (with or without raised comb). Brownells has a walnut stock with raised comb. Ebay even has an assortment of used H&R handi rifle stocks listed.

Re: New England Firearms

Received my ATI collapsible stock and mounted it today! Looks sweet as heck on the rifle BUT unfortunately I'm gonna have to buy the raised cheek piece to go on it! It helped, least now I'm not using my chin on the stock, but just not enough.

Re: New England Firearms

Lower scope mounts could be an option.

Re: New England Firearms

Went and played at the range today!

Best group I ever shot with that rifle and I've had it since I was 12, I'm 37 now! That's my pinky finger by the way! Switched to some Hornady shells with 35gr bullets. Rifle seems to like them.

I think rifle looks pretty good as well! Lol

Re: New England Firearms

Just thought I'd share that Sportsmans Guide is selling Hornady v-max 35gr in 22 Hornet for under $17 a box! Thought that was a great price considering all the local shops sell them for $25!!
