Encore Turkey Gun

Like it for turkey but so many things can happen to you at night hunting coyotes... I prefer a semiautomatic for predator hunting but for turkey hunting the Encore turkey gun not half bad!

Re: Encore Turkey Gun

Sure is a light weight shotgun for packing in far. I remember when I first got it. I wanted to kill a predator with it. Oh I should have taken the Beneli SBE 11. I see a canine down in the field that had interest in my electronic calling but it was maybe 100 yards away..He didn't want to come in any closer. I knew it was a canine. I reach into my pocket and did some bulb squeaking.. It was a coyote.. He came running right at me. I have my red light on my head and the wind in my face. There I' m with a Encore Turkey gun and I have the turkey choke tube in the shotgun... The coyote comes running right at me and Put the Encore up to my shoulder and fire at it near point blank range..Oh I missed it!!!Had I the SBE I would have had three quick shots. Many times when they come running at you I don't get them with the first shot.. Many times it's the 2nd or the 3rd shot that gets him..All I have now is the memory where I called in a coyote to my boots... HA HA.. I just wished I had the SBE 11 that night and not the Encore single shot...I tell you one thing.. I would not mind using it over snow at night with twilight conditions.. However when it's pitch black dark and they come running at you so fast like that you need to not have an Encore Turkey gun...

Re: Encore Turkey Gun

Sounds like you choked, and more than likely you would of missed with that SBE. or any other gun.. You don't have a extra shell ready.. just in case..???

Re: Encore Turkey Gun

No I think I i was startled that he was going right for the bulb squeaker in my pocket!
Set up perfect! Light on my head made me stealth and wind in my face! He didn't see me nor smelled me! Encore extra full turkey choke at 5 paces is to tight!

Re: Encore Turkey Gun

when the bulb squeaking began the coyote was there within seconds. Also one of the reasons he was missed.. Coming right at you at 35 to 40 MPH. will always remember that set up..See I just had to try that Encore turkey Gun!!! HA HA!!
