cleaning up the ole ATV

How do I bring back the luster in my ole ATV. Am talking plastic fenders, tank and such (after washing).
Do I just use car wax? or Is there a product just for the plastic on ATV's?
What do you use?
Thanks in advance.

There are products out there for plastic fenders. A simple search turned up many different brands. Never used any of them before.

There are a ton of products that can be used to bring back the color and luster of old, faded plastics. WD40, penetrating oil, even Pledge can work. My favorite is Maxima SC1 spray. Silkolene Pro Prep is another. They repel mud and water and condition the plastic. If your plastic is REALLY sun bleached Plastic Renew is a good product to take the faded layer off so the color is more like factory but it is very labor intensive.

I always used tire foam cleaner. Spray on, let it foam up and wipe off. Works great!

My son and nephew use SC1 on their dirt bikes before racing and casual rides. They also uses it on the ATV's. It seems to work good. It's not cheap. About $17.00 through Rocky Mountain ATV or Amazon. He said you wash, completely dry and then spray it on. Let it dry for about an hour until it's not tacky anymore. I've watched the mud just slide off like water beads on fresh wax.

I get them at bike shops. Not sure where you’re located but most bike shops carry Maxima products. Much fewer shops carry Silkolene.
