2008 Ranger 700 Problems

This machine has no power going up hills. Putting the peddle down gives me 5000 RPM but a 10 mph response. It runs faster on flat terrain. I appreciate any advice.

Time to check the drive belt. Have you been using "low' when going up hills or towing? rpm's increasing says to me that the belt is slipping. google Polaris ranger forum's lots of info.

Thanks Guys that is what I will do. Is it difficult to change the belt? Should I take it to a Dealer?

The belt may just need an adjustment. They do wear and stretch.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

10 minutes for a belt swap. I have same machine and that's what mine did when I pulled a tree in high gear, burnt the belt up. Also had bad fuel pump once.

New belt install was easy. The new belt is wider than the one I replaced, I assume it was wore out. I still feel like I am not getting full throttle. I wonder if the throttle cable is stretched.?

What does that mean and how do you correct that?
