Stalling out

Question, im not too savvy when its comes to atv's. I have a Yamaha 125cc quad for the kids up camp.. Sometimes when they are riding it, it will stall out. seems to happens when they are not giving it gas. As you can feel it stalling, I give it gas but nothing.. Im thinking it has to do with the idle, but im not at all sure.. Any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks in advance..

Re: Stalling out

The first thing I would do is give the carb a good cleaning and change the plug.

Re: Stalling out

Is the fuel filter clean? I'd also try some dry gas.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Make sure the mice don't have a nest in the air filter, like mine..

Re: Stalling out

does it otherwise idle ok? run fine at home but not up at the mountains? does it start right back up after stalling?

start with the following
clean air filter
change spark plug (look at condition while yer at it)
change fuel filter (should be a throw away)
If its old gas, drain and add fresh
run it and see how it does. If it still acts up
take the carb off and clean. Might have to soak it to get everything clean.

Good luck...btw what year and model? I might have a manual for it

Your spot I NEVER go back
My spot I expect the same
