Ignition switch problem

I have an old heald hauler with the 670 cc engine. Runs good for 40 years old. But the ignition switches keep burning out. I have had this thing for 10 years and need to replace the switch about twice a year. They seem to burn out inside.

Re: Ignition switch problem

Two things I would check first.

Todays switches are most likely made in China and are probably junk. I'd buy a good quality switch.

I would run new wires from the switch to the solenoid or starter and make sure they were the proper gage.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.
