99 polaris scrambler clutch cover rubbing

I have a 99 Polaris 500 scrambler that the clutch cover rubs when at idle. Does anyone know why and if it can be corrected? I have had this machine for a few years and it has had issues with the clutch cover in the past. I just replaced the drive belt and is seemed to get even worse.

Re: 99 polaris scrambler clutch cover rubbing

guys, I had the same problem on my 1997 sportsman 500. the problem with the cover is that it warped from heat over the years and possibly resting a foot on the cover. nothing is wrong with the clutch, just the cover warped. you can take the cover off and where you see it rubbing grind some of the plastic in that area. just do not go through or it will not be waterproof. I tried this and it did not work. I spent the money and bought a new cover. problem fixed.
