Re: boat transfer cost

The state fee's are minimal it's the title company transfer fee's that add up. Fee's vary from company to company. It's best to call around to local shops to find out what they charge. I think I paid $150? for both my boat and trailer at a local insta tag place

Re: boat transfer cost

I did one a few years ago by printing the forms from the F&BC website and completing them. I believe I needed two checks, one for registration and one for sale tax. In addition I had to send a copy of the bill of sale.

It was a lot cheaper than going to a tag place.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Re: boat transfer cost

What Dogface said, except ours was registered in Virginia the first year we owned it so we did not have to pay sales tax. Send the forms in and had the registration card in less than two weeks.
