I never fog my 40hp Merc two stroke. I put some sta-bil in, change the oil, lower unit and it has fired up fine for the last ten years.

Thanks baytech. I just fogged mine mainly cause I had some fogging oil left. Think it will be my last time though...pending add'l input here to the contrary.

I fog both of my OBs. Does it give added protection? I have no idea, but for the little bit of time it takes, why not? The cost is negligible since 1 can lasts me a couple of years.

An added benefit first start in the Spring I LOVE that smell. To me, that smell is second only to Hoppes #9.

I've seen guys do both, no difference in my opinion. Only thing is maybe if you left it over a year.

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......

4.50 is a cheap investment vs a new outboard.
And that first start up fog chases away the gnats

My ability to remember lyrics from songs of the 60's far exceed my ability to remember why I walked into the kitchen

Got a point there Birch. Plus my Mrs hates that smell on first start-up & rarely accompanies me! lol

Won't ever put any of mine away without. Friend didn't on his 115 Merc and left the boat outside all winter. First trip of the year it puked the rings on one cylinder. Ended up the rings stuck over the winter and cracked. $3500 later the motor had a rebuilt powerhead. Which would you prefer to pay?

Remember, shoot straight and shoot often.
