Horse Powere Restrictions

I was curious anyone ever got caught or knew of someone who got caught running the old "PA 20" horsepower motor. A buddy of mine has a mercury with 20 stickers that he bought used about 4 years ago. He got stopped last week and is facing a fine for having a 25 HP motor. We knew people do this but were unaware that his motor was one of these. Anybody have any experience with this?

The key to having a motor set up like that on restricted lakes is to not run it wide open. If anybody knows anything about motors you will be able to tell the difference.

Speed demons with 20 stickers are easy pickings for the PFBC..pop the cover and the engine serial numbers don't lie.

Just go to Pymatuning and you will see the guys running "hot"

The nimrod I bought my boat off put 9.9 stickers on the 25, its more than obvious

What I say might not be the popular trend but at least Im not afraid to speak my mind!

Actually, you don't even have to pop the cover...most serial numbers are on or around the mounting plate and begin with the hp rating.

Why do they call it common sense when it is so rare.
