Rafting the lehigh r

Where is the best stretch of the Lehigh R. to raft from starting location and ending location? Are there any major obstructions in the way down the river at any points? For example how long would it take to go from the Jim Thorpe to Lehigh Gap access points? and how long to go from Lehigh Gap to Treiclers?

Thank you for the help
Ryan

Re: Rafting the lehigh r

I just did from Jim Thorpe to bowmanstown and it took roughly 3.5 hrs. almost no real rapids and we had to get out of the raft numerous times to free ourselves from the rocks. almost like tubing the delaware

The more people that I meet, the more I love my dog

Re: Rafting the lehigh r

Here is a site that is helpful.
http://wildlandspa.org/lrwt/introduction.html

From the Gap to Triechlers would be about 4 1/2 hours....The Gap to Cementon usually takes us 5 hours in kayaks with some loafing. There are no real obstacles from the Gap to Triechlers except the old dam that washed out would be the only real concern but it isn't bad at all.

I would watch the river condition on that site I gave you...Gap to Triechlers you want about 700+ cfs at Walnutport for a decent trip.
