A word of advice
Today while coming back into the Delaware Bay I was stopped and boarded by the Coast Guard.
They were out in force checking boaters registration and safety gear. They asked if we caught fish but were not to interested in seeing them.
Every year I get the courtesy exam and have the sticker I passed on the side windshield but that didn't stop them from boarding me today.
Both guardsman were polite and told me this was part of a big push all along the Jersey coast. They did not test me but they said they were also preforming sobriety testing if they feel it is needed.
Make sure your registration is up to date, you have on the boat your Boating Safety Certificate and all your required equipment and appropriate life jackets are in order.
