Fluid/Oil extractor

Instead of draining the oil out of the bottom of the engine i was thinking of trying one of these. Overtons sells both the manual and a 12v oil changer. It says you extract the oil thru the dipstick tube. My question is has anyone tried this and how do they work?

Re: Fluid/Oil extractor

You can get the manual pumps for very cheap.. Changing the oil in my outboard was a disaster since it just ran down the leg, so next time I'm going to use a pump.. I've heard nothing but good things

Re: Fluid/Oil extractor

We use this at work, it gets 99% of it, but it will take a long, long time to do if the oil is not hot.
