I have a Lewmar 700 series and it is a life saver.
Easy to install and has the best warranty I could find for saltwater use (5 years).
I no longer need 3 people to pull the anchor on those night drum fishing trips
My ability to remember lyrics from songs of the 60's far exceed my ability to remember why I walked into the kitchen
They have a sports mod but I didn't like that it could only handle 1/2 rope but it would work for you. Good Luck
If you have a West Marine near you they should be able to help you out.
Thanks for reminding me about West Marine. I forgot how much they have on their site. Saw the Lewmar sport 550. I'm looking more for one that spools up similar to a light duty Minnkota or Trac Marine but with a more refined look like the Lewmars.
Just google anchor winches and windlasses, there are many manufacturers. I don't have my boating catalogs anymore of I would look it up for you, but there is lots of info on the net.
Thanks just the same. Looked at hundreds and just can't find one manufacturer that makes one with an integrated spool and isn't made of all plastic and thin painted metal. I suppose I'll have to just go with a (dependable) Minnkota unit. I like to fabricate things so I can always make a custom cover made of stainless steel or diamond plate aluminum or something to dress it up.
I wonder if Lewmar makes a light duty unit. Something that heavy duty would probably tip the outboard out of the water. Boat is only 16 feet long.
I have an AnchorMate on my 14' it's a fairly nice piece of equipment and works really well for the fishing I do. Only down side I supposed would be that it's manually operated but that is what I wanted. Easy to drop anchor, easy to reel in. Keep the batteries for the lights and fishfinder
