Mechanical snafu !

I have been working on a neglected Evinrude 60 I got from a guy who needed cash. I was at my wits end, could not get power to the control box. I went and spilled the story to the guys at Halls Marine. They provided me with a $1 fuse about a half inch long and said that was likely the trouble. This fuse is under the hood, in a encapsulated cover. When I popped it apart the " Old Fuse" fell out, a perfectly fuse shaped chunk of tin foil! After replacing it with an actual fuse, I climbed in, turned the key, and wham !!! PPPUUTT, PPPPUUUTT ! Although she is running rough, she will be on her way to Halls to get tuned up, another old war horse rescued !

Re: Mechanical snafu !

Did you ever find the tank you were looking for. I have one but can't part with it. It's for my 1957 evinrude.
