Question

I went and looked at a boat earler and was wondering if it is fairly price. It is a 2000 14' Mirrocraft deep V boat with a Mercury 9.9. The current owner was asking $1980 for it, but he said he would take $1600 for it. Is this a decent price for the boat, motor, trailer and trolling motor? This is my first boat so I dont really know much about them.

Re: Question

That is a good price, but I would want to see the motor run in a barrel at least. Look for oil in the barrel after he demos it. Understand also with a used boat you will find "surprises" the first few times you go out like small leaks, broken this or thats, to be expected.

Re: Question

Is the motor a 2000?

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Re: Question

If this is the boat for sale in Punksy the motor is no good, just fair warning if you don't know, sounds like the same boat.

Re: Question

The motor is a 1999 9.9 2 stroke mercury. It not in Punksy Joe, thank for the heads up. The motor started the first pull.

Re: Question

Thats a deal then, if the motor is good buy it, it won't last long.

Re: Question

If it started first pull and didn't sputter a bit and have any scratches or signs of rough handling or abuse, it's a good one. Those 9.9's are tough as nails. Sounds like a steal of a deal if everything is clean.
