1989 60hp Evinrude has no spark

It's been diagnosed as needing a new stator. I am going to change that myself, I have the flywheel removed and the stator loose.

Diagnostics were performed at an evinrude dealer,by a well recommended mechanic.

The next question is where to buy the stator. I have seen prices for the replacement one I need, range from $340 at Amazon to $195 on E-Bay. Are they all made in China,is there a better choice than E-Bay and Amazon. The Evinrude dealer's price was $340 plus installation.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

All I know is that it must involve some labor as I had one replaced of a 150 Force. Saw bill but luckily it was still under warranty. You will definitely save money DIY!! Not sure if there's a market on used staters or not?

Best of luck!
