Kayak Float

I recently purchased a kayak and am curious if anyone has some info on any good fishing floats. I’m in Lebanon county. Never fished the Swatty much but have heard there can be some good fishing. Anyone know of some good stretches of creeks or rivers good for kayak fishing. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated!

I know of a couple great floats in the Harrisburg area on the Susquehanna. One is from Duncannon to Marysville, the other is from Marysville to West Fairview. PM me if you're interested and I can give you more detailed directions on where to put in and get out.

I have not fished the Swatty for a long time but I caught a lot of fish in it, bass, bluegills and catfish and carp in the Grebble area. You should know where that area is if you are from Lebanon. There are a couple of areas that can be shallow enough you will have to get out and pull your kayak but not far.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Don't limit yourself to rivers/creeks... I fish ponds and lakes in the State Parks, Gamelands ponds, Army Corps Engineers properties Yesterday I got 14 slab bluegills & 1 crappie at a Bradford County State Park. Some of the ponds I fish are stocked with trout but I don't target them... I fish with a fly rod and release all that I bring in..

Have fun!!

Yes I agree. Lakes are nice since you it is easy to come back to your vehicle and you don't have to paddle upstream. Only thing you may have to contend with is some wind pushing you around.

Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!
