Best place to buy a kayak??

Guys I am looking to buy two or three kayaks. I don't need anything special. Just something to get my family out on the water. Do you guys know of anyone or a place for a good deal. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

The past can not be forgotten, but the future is anything you want it to be.

Off season is the best time to get one. Try demo boats & craigslist too. I got my old town dirigo xt on clearance at Gander mountain in march and a perception swifty for the wife off craigslist in april

You can find cheap tubs at all the box stores, if that's all you're looking for. Watch the flyers for sales. If you want something better that will allow you and your family to advance as kayakers, then look towards a pro shop. Blue Mountain Outfitters is about an hour south of you in Marysville. Craigslist is a good option, too. Lots of rec boats and WW boats pop up, as do some touring and sea kayaks. I'm still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on a Valley Nordkaap I found on there earlier in the year.

There is a brand new Dunhams Store, just opened at the Columbia Mall in Bloomsburg. Its like a Dicks or Gander Mountain . They are destroying the local competition here with introductory specials. My buddy just bought 2 Yaks there for over $100 less each than the closest competitor. You can go on their website and print yourself 1 20% off anything ticket. I bought new boat batteries with mine.

If you are looking to buy new you might want to try Appomattox River Company. Several years ago I bought a Pamlico 100 with the angler kit, work deck and a Werner paddle delivered cheaper than I could just the kayak from Blue Mountain Outfitters. Check them out.....it might be worth it!

+2 on Appomattox pricing, though you may have to drive to an out of the way truck terminal to pick it up, and dealing with any damage/returns is a pain with such a big package.
